Villa Serene is a contemporary farmhouse nestled near Ranikhet, Uttarakhand, overlooking the Garhwal Himalayan range, including peaks like Nanda Devi, Trishul, Chaukhamba, and Kamet. The villa draws inspiration from simple geometric forms and the native character of its mountain surroundings. The asymmetrical facade blends randomized local stone, brick, and round glass windows into a composition that feels both rooted and refined. Inside, the interiors lean into a rich, eclectic warmth, pine wood flooring, a cast iron fireplace, a barrel-vaulted master bedroom, antique railway sleeper bar table, and embroidered day beds, all curated to create a rustic yet sophisticated atmosphere. Extensive glazing throughout ensures uninterrupted visual connection to the Himalayan landscape, while skylights bring natural light deep into the kitchen and bathrooms. The outdoor spaces are equally considered wooden decks, a pool, a putting green, a garden pond, and an open-to-sky bathroom extend the living experience into nature. Sustainability is embedded into the project through rainwater harvesting, grey-water recycling, and energy-efficient appliances.
