Luna Celeste — A Harmonious Fusion of Cubist Architecture and Himalayan Serenity

Basot, Uttarakhand · 2024 · Farmstay

Luna Celeste is a sustainable hospitality project. The villa blends modernist cubist aesthetics with traditional Himalayan architecture, specifically utilizing traditional Bakhuli— a Kumaoni technique that follows the land’s natural contours. The design prioritizes immersion in nature, featuring expansive north-facing glass facades and skylights that frame panoramic mountain views while flooding interiors with natural light. Sustainability is a core focus; the villa is segmented to minimize its physical footprint and uses energy-efficient low-emissivity glazing for thermal regulation. Additionally, an integrated water harvesting system in the pool provides a gravity-fed supply during dry seasons. Luna Nova serves as a minimalist sanctuary where luxury and environmental responsibility coexist harmoniously.
