The Lazy Haven — Where Craft, Conservation & Construction Converge

Kyari, Corbett, Uttarakhand · 2021 · Hospitality

The Lazy Haven is a sustainably driven hospitality retreat in Kyari, near Jim Corbett National Park, where every design decision is rooted in material honesty and environmental sensitivity. Guest rooms are tucked along the northern edge of the site, connected by bridges, each with individual entrances and balconies for natural ventilation. The material palette is deliberately reclaimed and regional, recycled metal sheets, bamboo frames with locally woven mats, traditional thatch, brick jali screens, wooden ventilation shafts, and scrap metal used throughout the spa. Traditional Garhwali baskets double as light fixtures, ensuring that craft, culture, and construction speak the same language.
